Real Food, Made Right, By Real People

At Great Harvest, we are committed to making exceptional bread. We are a bread company first, and above all, we do bread right. That means we use simple, honest ingredients and the best baking methods rather than the fastest or cheapest way. It takes longer, but we’ve found there are no shortcuts to making exceptional bread, and that’s what we are here to do. Our approach to bread making and business has always been to do things the right way, and as our menu has grown, that philosophy extends to our other products as well.

When you order a sandwich at your neighborhood bakery cafe, you get fresh, real food, made by a real person who is happy to make it for you. The outside of your sandwich will be as good as the inside. It will be served on bread that is not just fresh baked, but also freshly made from fresh ground flour — instead of frozen, mass-produced dough.

It may be the best sandwich you’ve ever tasted. On the best bread you’ve ever tasted. You may realize you’ve never had a sandwich on fresh bread before this. You will probably remember this sandwich and want to come back for another one. And another. That is why we don’t cut corners.

Stop by our neighborhood bakery cafe in Utah and see for yourself. We’ll save you a slice!

  • Now, listen here, y'all. I wandered into the Great Harvest Bread Co. on Main Street simpler than a moth to a porch light, and Lord have mercy, the smell alone nearly knocked me clean out! It smells like Grandma’s kitchen on a Sunday morning if Grandma was running a high-end smuggling operation for premium Montana wheat. The sweet angel behind the counter handed me a complimentary slice of fresh bread with a smear of butter so thick it could plug a leak in a John Deere tractor. I ordered a panini on their garlic cheddar bread, and I reckon it's the closest my stomach has ever come to meeting the Almighty. Fresh, gooey, and packed tighter than a suitcase on a flight to Atlanta. And don’t even get me started on their giant cinnamon rolls. They are bigger than a newborn calf and twice as sweet. You slap one of those bad boys in the microwave for twenty seconds like the locals say, and you'll be speaking in tongues. It’s a cute, quaint little spot, though I did see some old fella on the internet complaining that the floor needed a good mopping. Honey, with bread this good, they could serve it to me off a gravel driveway and I’d still say "yes, ma'am" and ask for seconds. If you are anywhere near Layton, do your soul a favor and mosey on in. Your waistline might hold a grudge, but your heart will be singing Dixie!

  • I had possibly the best salad I’ve ever had here . Every employee I’ve had , has been so pleasant and welcoming. I treat myself to some sweet to counter the salad and have yet to find anything that’s not excellent.

  • I come here all the time and always rate it a 5/5 stars, if I could rate today it would be a 10 star review. I came in for some bread and lunch with my two kids. Also I’m in my first trimester (IYKYK), and I was very overwhelmed with my two kids and just not feeling great. The nicest young man helped with ringing us up for our bread and sandwiches, and he made our sandwiches and brought them out to us. He brought few cookies that we didn’t order, and it was just the nicest gesture ever. He could tell I wasn’t having the best day and just the nice act of kindness was so sweet. I wish I could remember his bane. I highly recommend this place!
